This September, OTI opens its Viewing Room in Long Island City to Nicolás Beltrán — the first artist of Annex.
WHAT ANNEX IS?
Annex is not a sale. It’s a room, given.
Most of what OTI moves never gets to be seen. The Viewing Room, built to receive and protect work in transit, is usually a working space, not a public one. Annex is what happens when that space opens its doors instead: given, for a season, to an artist who rarely gets to show work under the conditions it deserves.
This first edition is a pilot. What happens this September, measured against goals set in advance, decides whether Annex returns. We are not promising a second edition. We are naming a commitment we intend to keep.

Nicolás Beltrán
A Colombian painter working in oil on canvas, based in Bogotá and represented by Galería Adrián Ibáñez. His work — shown at ARTBO and built at large scale — turns on identity, memory, the body and territory.
Juaniko
A curator and researcher based in New York and Bogotá, working in modern and contemporary art — alternative modernities, cosmotechnics, spirituality, planetarity and the history of exhibition design. Curator at the Museo de Arte Moderno de Bogotá (MAMBO), 2022–2025; research fellow at MoMA's Cisneros Institute and at Strelka Institute's The Terraforming program.
